Dr. Zeynep Yetkin

I was born in Ankara in 1990. My passion for dentistry led me to Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry. I graduated from the faculty in 2013 and received the title of dentist. After my graduation, I continuously strived to improve my knowledge and skills. These efforts led me to become a specialization student in the Department of Orthodontics at Selçuk University. In 2018, I successfully completed my orthodontic specialization training and earned the title of orthodontist. Since then, I have been proud to serve my patients as an orthodontist. I strive to achieve the most aesthetic and functional results by creating individualized treatment plans for each patient. Apart from my professional life, I am also the mother of my dear son Levent. Balancing my family life and career, I strive to excel in both. To contribute to my professional development and knowledge, I actively participate in national and international congresses, seminars, and courses. Additionally, I continuously work on improving my language skills to access up-to-date information from international sources. In summary, I am a passionate orthodontist who cares for her patients, open to self-improvement and innovations, and a loving mother.

What is pediatric orthodontics?

  • Inappropriate positions of the jaws in three dimensions can be treated with orthopedic appliances used during childhood.
  • Therefore, we usually recommend consulting with an orthodontist when the first permanent molars erupt around the age of 7.
  • The orthodontic treatment process in children is generally known to occur around the age of 11-12.
  • Many orthodontic treatments are also performed at this age. However, the correct approach is for children to consult with an orthodontist and have their first orthodontic examination around the age of 7 when their primary teeth begin to fall out.
  • During this period, early intervention with simple orthodontic appliances in patients with dental and jaw problems helps reduce the severity of the problem and prevents the need for more complex treatments in the future.
